God Made You

I am wonderfully made by God.

God Loves Me  ·  Psalm 139:13–14

I am wonderfully made by God.

Look at your hands for a second. Look at your fingers, each one. Did you know that God made those hands? He thought about every detail of you before you were even born. Today we hear what the Bible says about how you came to be.

A man named David wrote this in a poem to God:

'You made the inside of me. You put me together in my mother's womb.'

That means before anyone could see you, God was already making you. Every part of you. Your nose, your laugh, your eyes, the way you scrunch your face when you're thinking.

God thought about all of it.

David writes: 'I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.'

Wonderfully made means made with so much care and love and attention that it fills you with wonder.

Can you wiggle your fingers? God made those. Can you blink your eyes? God made those too. Can you smile? That smile. God put that there.

Not one single part of you was made by accident.

God chose your laugh. He chose your hair. He chose the way your voice sounds when you say 'I love you.'

Every detail. On purpose. With love.

You are wonderfully made.

Prayer

Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you for making me.
Thank you that you chose
every part of me.
We love you!
Amen.
