God Is With Me
I don't have to be afraid — God is with me.
God Loves Me · Isaiah 41:10; Deuteronomy 31:6
I don't have to be afraid — God is with me.
Do you ever feel scared? Maybe in the dark, or when something is new and different? Today we hear something God said. Something He has said many, many times in the Bible. And it's meant just for moments like that.
God said this to His people through a man named Isaiah:
'Don't be afraid. I am with you. Don't be worried. I am your God. I will make you strong. I will help you. I will hold you up with my strong, good hand.'
Did you hear all the things God promised?
Don't be afraid. I am WITH you. Not watching from far away. Right with you.
I will make you STRONG. When you feel little and wobbly, God is your strength.
I will HELP you. Whatever the hard thing is, God is helping.
I will HOLD you up. Like a big safe hand underneath you.
Can you pretend to hold someone's hand? Hold tight!
God says this same thing in many places in the Bible. Over and over and over. Because He knows we need to hear it. He knows fear is real.
So He keeps saying: don't be afraid. I am with you.
That is always true. Even right now.
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
When I am scared,
remind me that you are with me.
I am not alone.
We love you!
Amen.
