Big Feelings Are Okay
God made my feelings — I can bring them to Him.

God made my feelings — I can bring them to Him.
Have you ever felt really, really angry? Like fire inside your chest? Big feelings like anger are real. And the Bible doesn't say 'don't feel them.' It says something much better.
The apostle Paul wrote a letter, and in it he said: 'When you are angry, do not sin.'
Notice: he doesn't say 'never be angry.'
He says: when you ARE angry, which means he expects it to happen sometimes, do not let it make you hurt someone.
God made feelings. He made us able to feel happy, and sad, and excited, and angry, and disappointed. Those feelings are real, and we can bring every one of them to God.
Even Jesus got angry sometimes, when people were being treated unfairly.
Anger tells us something feels wrong, or unfair, or hurtful. It's a signal.
The question is: what do we do with it?
Can you show me an angry face? Make the face! Now blow out the air slowly. Whoooosh. Like letting some steam out.
Here is the secret: you can bring every feeling to God. You can say, 'God, I am so angry right now! This feels so unfair!'
God can handle your anger. He loves you in the happy moments and the angry ones.
Bring it all to Him.
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you for making my feelings.
Help me to bring them
all to you.
We love you!
Amen.
