I Can Say Sorry

God always forgives when I say sorry.

God Loves Me  ยท  1 John 1:9; Psalm 32:1

God always forgives when I say sorry.

Have you ever done something you knew was wrong? And how did it feel inside? Not so good. Today we learn about one of the most important things in the world. Saying sorry. And what God does when we do.

The Bible says: 'If we tell God about our sins, He is faithful and right to forgive us and make us clean from all we have done wrong.'

That means: when we do something wrong and we tell God honestly, He forgives us.

Every time.

Not just the first time. Not just when the wrong thing was small. Every time. Always.

King David made a big mistake once. A really big one. He came to God and said: 'I was wrong. I'm sorry. Please forgive me.'

And God forgave him.

David wrote: 'Blessed, so happy, is the person whose wrongs are forgiven!'

Can you feel what forgiveness feels like? It's like putting down something really heavy that you were carrying. Pretend you're putting something heavy down. Set it down. Ahh.

That's forgiveness.

God doesn't hold your wrongs against you. He doesn't keep a list of all the bad things.

When you say sorry, He cleans it away.

Just like that.

Prayer

Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
I'm sorry for when I do wrong.
Thank you that you
always forgive me.
We love you!
Amen.
