I Can Say Thank You

Saying thank you makes my heart happy.

God Loves Me  ยท  1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 107:1

Saying thank you makes my heart happy.

When someone gives you something really wonderful, what do you say? Thank you! Today we hear about why saying thank you, especially to God, is one of the best things we can do.

Paul wrote in a letter: 'In everything, give thanks. Because this is what God wants for you.'

Everything?

Even on hard days?

Yes. Not necessarily for everything. But in everything. Which means: even on a hard day, there is always something to be thankful for.

Psalm 107 says: 'Give thanks to the Lord. He is good. His love lasts forever.'

Think of three things right now you are thankful for. Go ahead. Think of three!

Maybe your home. Maybe your food. Maybe someone who loves you. Maybe your own two hands.

Do you know something interesting? Scientists have found that when people say thank you regularly, they feel happier. Their hearts actually feel better.

God built that into us! He made us in such a way that gratitude fills us up.

Can you say thank you to God right now for one thing? Just say it out loud. Anything!

That prayer, however small, however simple, God loves to hear it.

Prayer

Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Help me to say thank you
every day.
We love you!
Amen.
