Sharing Is Love
When I share, I show love.
God Loves Me ยท Luke 3:11; 2 Corinthians 9:7
When I share, I show love.
Sharing can be hard! When you have something good, it's natural to want to keep it all. But today we hear something surprising. Sharing actually does something good inside us.
John the Baptist was telling people how to live well. And someone asked him: 'What should we do?'
John said something simple: 'If you have two coats, share one with the person who has none. If you have food, share with the person who is hungry.'
Two coats. Share one. Simple.
Paul wrote: 'God loves someone who gives with a happy heart. Because God is a cheerful giver.'
A cheerful giver. Not a reluctant giver. Not a resentful giver.
A cheerful one. Someone who gives and feels joy about it.
Can you practice? Pretend you have two cookies. Pick one up and hold it out to share. Smile while you do it! That's a cheerful giver!
Here's a secret: when you share, something happens inside you. A little warmth. A little joy.
God built that in. Because we were made to love people. And sharing is one of the clearest ways love shows up.
When you share, you are doing what God does. God shares His best gifts with us. We can do the same.
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Help me to share
with a happy heart.
You are a cheerful giver.
We love you!
Amen.
