I Help My Family
Helping is how I show love.
God Loves Me ยท Proverbs 17:17; Galatians 6:2
Helping is how I show love.
What are some ways you help your family at home? Maybe picking up toys, or giving a hug, or bringing something to someone? Helping seems small. But the Bible says it is one of the most important things we can do.
The Bible says: 'A friend loves at all times.'
At all times. Not just when it is easy. Not just when you feel like it. All times.
Paul wrote: 'Carry each other's heavy loads. And in this way you follow the law of Christ.'
Carry each other's loads. That means: when something is heavy for someone else, come alongside and help carry it.
You are part of a family. And families carry things together.
Can you flex your arms like you're very strong? Strong!
You have those arms for a reason. To carry, to help, to hold, to hug.
Helping your family might look like: Picking up something without being asked. Giving a hug when someone is tired. Being gentle with a baby or a pet. Saying 'I'll help you' when someone struggles.
These are small things. But they add up to something very beautiful.
A family that helps each other is full of love.
And that is exactly what God made families for.
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Help me to be a helper.
Help me to love my family
by helping them.
We love you!
Amen.
