I Am Not Alone

God never leaves me.

God Loves Me  ยท  Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5

God never leaves me.

Has there ever been a time when you felt alone? Maybe no one was playing with you, or you were in a new place by yourself? Today we hear a promise that God has made. And He has never broken it.

Moses was about to go away. The people of Israel were afraid. What would happen without their leader?

Moses told them: 'Be strong! Don't be afraid! The Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you or give up on you.'

Never leave you. Never give up on you. Two forever promises.

Later, in a letter to early Christians, these words appear again: 'God has said: "I will never leave you. I will never give up on you." So we can say with confidence: The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid.'

The same promise, hundreds of years later, because it is still true.

Think about a shadow. Your shadow goes everywhere you go. You can't leave it behind.

God's presence is like that, but so much more real. He goes everywhere you go. Into the new place. Into the hard day. Into the quiet room at night.

Can you look around? Left, right, up, down? God is in every direction. With you right now.

You are never alone.

Prayer

Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you that you never leave.
Wherever I go,
you are there with me.
We love you!
Amen.
