God Sings Over Me

God Loves Me  ·  Zephaniah 3:17

God delights in me and sings over me.

Has someone ever sung to you? A lullaby maybe, or a silly song? There is something so loving about being sung to. Today we hear what might be the most surprising and wonderful verse in the whole Bible about how God feels about you.

A prophet named Zephaniah wrote down what God said. And it is so beautiful.

'The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.'

Rejoice over you with singing.

God, the maker of the universe, sings. Over you. Because He is so full of joy about you that He can't help but sing.

Can you imagine that? God sitting beside you, close and loving, singing over you. Like a parent with a baby they are just so happy about.

He takes great delight in you. That means you bring Him joy. Not because you're perfect. Because you're His.

He quiets you with His love. When everything feels loud and busy, God can quiet your heart with love.

Can you close your eyes for a second? Imagine God singing over you. Whatever that sounds like to you.

That is real. That is what God's heart toward you is like.

Prayer

Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you that you delight in me.
Thank you that you sing
over me with love.
We love you!
Amen.
