Let There Be Sky
God made the big wide sky.
God Made the World · Genesis 1:6–8
God made the big wide sky.
When you go outside, what do you see up above you? The sky! Today we hear the story of when God made that beautiful sky.
On the second day, God looks at all the water He has made. Water is everywhere. Above and below, here and there.
God speaks again.
'Let there be space!' He says.
The water moves. Some going up, some staying down. In between, something new appears. Something wide and open and beautiful.
The sky!
God looks at it. Blue and wide, stretching as far as anything can stretch.
Can you look up right now? Imagine the very first sky. So clean. So new. So big.
God calls it heaven. The sky above us.
And it is good.
Every time you look up, friends, you are seeing something God made just for us.
Prayer
Let's pray together. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you for the sky.
Thank you for clouds
and blue and wide and open.
We love you!
Amen.
