Rain
God takes care of the earth.
God Made the World ยท Psalm 147:8; Matthew 5:45
God takes care of the earth.
What happens when it rains? Everything gets wet! Puddles and splashing and the smell of wet grass. Did you know that rain is one of God's ways of taking care of the earth?
Think about a garden on a hot summer day. The flowers are drooping. The ground is dry and crumbly. The grass is turning yellow. Everything is thirsty.
But look up.
Dark clouds are rolling in. The wind picks up. And then the first drops fall!
Tap-tap-tap on the leaves. Then more. Then the rain is falling everywhere!
The flowers lift their heads. The grass turns green. The dry ground soaks up every drop.
Where does all that rain come from?
From God.
The Bible says God covers the sky with clouds and sends rain to the earth. Every rainstorm, God thought of it. God sent it.
God is always taking care of the things He made.
Can you make rain sounds with your fingers on your knees? Tap tap tap!
Even a rainy day is God saying: 'I'm taking care of everything.'
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you for rain.
Thank you for taking care
of the earth and of us.
We love you!
Amen.
