God Made Seasons
God made every season.
God Made the World ยท Genesis 8:22; Ecclesiastes 3:1
God made every season.
What season is it where you are right now? Hot summer? Cold winter? Pretty autumn? Rainy spring? Guess what. God made ALL of them. Today we hear about how the seasons show us that God keeps His promises.
After the great flood, which we'll hear about another day, Noah and his family come out of the boat.
They step onto dry land and take a big deep breath of fresh air.
And God makes them a promise.
'As long as the earth is here,' God says, 'summer and winter, spring and fall, day and night will never stop.'
God has kept that promise ever since.
In spring, the world wakes up! Green leaves come back. Flowers bloom. Baby animals are born.
In summer, the sun shines hot and long! Berries ripen. Bees buzz. Children play outside until it's almost dark.
In autumn, the leaves turn colors! Red and orange and gold, like the whole world is celebrating.
In winter, everything rests. The earth sleeps under a blanket of snow, getting ready to wake up again.
Can you think of your favorite season? Which one?
God made them all. And every one is a promise kept.
Prayer
Let's pray. Repeat after me:
Dear God,
Thank you for the seasons.
Thank you that you keep
every promise you make.
We love you!
Amen.
